History of North America

When did William Hull invade Canada?

William Hull never invaded Canada. In the War of 1812, he was the commanding officer of the United States Army of the Northwest at the outbreak of the war and invaded what was then Upper Canada (present day Ontario). On August 16, 1812, he surrendered the city of Detroit, Michigan, to British and Native forces under Major General Isaac Brock, and with it the entire Michigan territory.
