Is there any history of the original Texas- New Mexico Pipeline Company?

The Texas-New Mexico Pipeline Company was founded in 1928 by a group of oilmen from Texas and New Mexico. The company's original purpose was to build and operate a pipeline to transport crude oil from the Permian Basin of West Texas to refineries in New Mexico. The company's first pipeline was completed in 1929 and had a capacity of 10,000 barrels per day.

In the 1930s, the Texas-New Mexico Pipeline Company expanded its operations to include the transportation of natural gas. The company's first natural gas pipeline was completed in 1931 and had a capacity of 20 million cubic feet per day. In the 1940s and 1950s, the company continued to expand its operations and built several new pipelines to meet the growing demand for oil and gas.

In 1954, the Texas-New Mexico Pipeline Company was acquired by the El Paso Natural Gas Company. El Paso Natural Gas continued to operate the company as a subsidiary and expanded its operations to include the transportation of refined petroleum products. In 1998, El Paso Natural Gas was acquired by the Kinder Morgan Energy Partners, L.P. Kinder Morgan Energy Partners continues to operate the Texas-New Mexico Pipeline Company as a subsidiary.
