Lord Kelvin lived in Belfast, Ireland, for most of his life. He was born in Belfast on June 26, 1824, and he died there on December 17, 1907. He spent most of his career as a professor of natural philosophy at Queen's University Belfast, which is now known as Queen's University Belfast. He also served as the President of the Royal Society from 1890 to 1895 and as the President of the British Association for the Advancement of Science from 1871 to 1872.
