How far were the American ships from hiroshima?

The American ships involved in the atomic bombing of Hiroshima were not present in the city itself. The Enola Gay, the B-29 bomber that dropped the atomic bomb, took off from Tinian Island in the Northern Mariana Islands, approximately 1,500 miles (2,414 kilometers) away from Hiroshima. The other American ships involved in the operation, including the USS Indianapolis, which carried the atomic bomb components to Tinian, were also located several hundred miles away from Hiroshima.
