In what year was the mines act pass and did this do for children?

The Mines Act was passed in 1842.

Here are some of the things the Mines Act did for children:

- Prohibited children under 10 years old from working in mines.

- Limited the hours that children under 18 could work to 12 hours a day.

- Required that children under 18 receive at least two hours of education per day.

- Improved the ventilation and safety of mines.
