Did the Compromise of 1850 essentially restore Missouri Compromise?

The Compromise of 1850 did not restore the Missouri Compromise. The Compromise of 1850 was created in response to the crisis over the expansion of slavery into the newly acquired territories from the Mexican-American War. The Missouri Compromise of 1820, on the other hand, had sought to resolve the issue of slavery in the territories acquired from the Louisiana Purchase.
