When was the charter established?

Magna Carta Libertatum (_"The Great Charter of Freedoms"_) was originally issued by King John of England at Runnymede, on June 15th, 1215. It was issued in response to the demands of the barons to curb his power and protect their privileges. The document limited the absolute authority of the crown, established the rights of individuals and guaranteed justice and the rule of law in England.
