Did Robert E. Lee surrender at the battle of Gettysburg?

Robert E. Lee did not surrender at the Battle of Gettysburg. The Army of the Potomac, led by Union General George G. Meade, defeated Lee's Army of Northern Virginia at Gettysburg. After three days of fierce fighting, Lee retreated back to Virginia. Lee eventually surrendered to Ulysses S. Grant at the Battle of Appomattox Court House in April 1865.
