Beginning of cultivation in Peru:
Peru is found in northwestern South America. The peoples of ancient Peru were sedentary peasants who grow tomatoes, corn, peppers, peppers, squash and potatoes. They raise llamas for their flesh, milk and wool, and as pack animals.
Around 1200 to 300 BC
Chavin civilization:
The Chavins founded the first great civilization in South America. Skilled stonecutters , they build enormous temples filled with carvings and engraved designs of their grimacing animal gods. They are the first in America to make gold objects .
Around 500 BC to 200 AD
Paracas civilization:
The paracas people live in the south of Peru and they are experienced weavers and embroiderers. They wrap their dead in beautiful embroidered fabrics and place them in baskets.
Around 200 BC to 600 AD
Nazca civilization:
The Nazca traced famous shapes and silhouettes of giant animals in the desert. Scholars believe that these drawings may have been made to convince the gods to send rain to lands parched by the sun. The priests probably walked along the path marked out on the ground to invoke the gods.
Around 700 AD
Mochica civilization:
In the North, the Mochica are ruled by belligerent warrior-priests. They subjugate neighboring tribes and often sacrifice prisoners of war to their gods. They are known for their terracotta human figurines.
