First Muslim government in sub continent?

The Mamluk Sultanate (1206–1290), also called the Slave Dynasty, was the first dynasty to rule over the territory that is now India, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. The sultans were originally slaves of the Ghurid dynasty, but they eventually overthrew their masters and established their own rule in 1206. The Mamluk Sultanate was the first Muslim government in the subcontinent, and it set the stage for the development of Islamic culture and civilization in the region.
