Did Cleopatra return to Egypt after she was defeated?

No, Cleopatra did not return to Egypt after her defeat at the Battle of Actium in 31 BCE. Following her defeat, she and Mark Antony fled to Alexandria, where they were pursued by Octavian's forces. Antony committed suicide in 30 BCE, and although Octavian initially promised Cleopatra safety, he later had her arrested. Cleopatra died by suicide on August 12, 30 BCE, to avoid being paraded as a captive in Octavian's triumph in Rome.
