History of Africa

When was the Iroqouis Confederacy formed and by whom?

The Iroqouis Confederacy, also known as the Haudenosaunee, was formed in the 1500s by five Native American nations - the Mohawk, Oneida, Onondaga, Cayuga, and Seneca. Later, a sixth nation, the Tuscarora, joined the Confederacy in the 18th century. The Confederacy was established to promote peace, unity, and cooperation among the member nations.
