What is true of pan African leaders?

Pan-African leaders have generally been individuals who have advocated for the social, political, and economic unification of Africa and its diaspora. They have often seen unity as the key to ending colonialism and imperialism and to improving the lives of African people.

Some of the most prominent Pan-African leaders include:

- Kwame Nkrumah: The first president of Ghana, Nkrumah was a strong advocate of Pan-Africanism and played a leading role in the formation of the Organization of African Unity (OAU).

- Thabo Mbeki: The second black president of South Africa, Mbeki continued to promote Pan-Africanism and played a leading role in the African Union (AU), the successor to the OAU.
