What type of government does Egypt have?

Egypt is a unitary dominant-party presidential republic, where the President of Egypt is both head of state and head of government. The president holds the most power, and the country has a semi-presidential system of government. The president appoints the prime minister, who is the head of government, as well as the cabinet. The president is also commander-in-chief of the armed forces and has the power to dissolve the parliament. The parliament of Egypt is the People's Assembly, which is a unicameral body composed of 596 members.
