1060:

- King Béla I crowned the first King of Hungary.

1061:

- The Normans land in England under William, Duke of Normandy.

1062:

- The Battle of Hims and a series of earthquakes kill more than 130,000 in Northern Syria and Lebanon.

1063:

- Sancho II the Strong of Castile defeats Sancho IV of Navarre at Llantada, uniting the two kingdoms under his rule.

1064:

- The Normans begin the Norman conquest of England.

1066:

- The Battle of Hastings in England results in a Norman victory.

- King Harold II of England falls at the Battle of Hastings.

- William, Duke of Normandy, is crowned King William I of England.

- The Normans introduce feudalism to England.

- The Domesday Book is compiled.

1067:

- William the Conqueror invades Scotland.

- Malcolm III of Scotland does homage to William at Abernethy.

1068:

- The Normans begin the conquest of Wales.

- Gruffydd ap Llywelyn, the King of Gwynedd and most of Wales becomes the nominal ruler of virtually the whole of Wales but is killed fighting the Normans later in the year.

- The first stone castle is built in England at Windsor.

1069:

- The Normans begin the construction of the White Tower in London.
