Morning Roll Calls

- Required daily for all concentration camp prisoners

- Held outside regardless of weather conditions; prisoners sometimes counted multiple times

- Roll calls sometimes lasted for hours

"Selection"

- SS officers inspected prisoners while on roll call to determine who was deemed fit for labor

- Those deemed unfit were taken away to be gassed

- Many camp prisoners were fearful and anxious waiting for the results of selections each day

Work Details

- After roll calls, prisoners went to their assigned work details at various industries associated or related to the camp

Breakfast

- Prisoners who were in charge of the kitchen at the camp were usually the last ones to eat, receiving very little food if any after feeding everyone else
