Historical story

How did pizzaro die?

Francisco Pizarro was assassinated on June 26, 1541, in Lima, Peru, by a group of Spanish conquistadors led by Diego de Almagro the Younger. Almagro and his followers were supporters of the late Diego de Almagro the Elder, who had been Pizarro's partner in the conquest of Peru. Almagro the Younger believed that Pizarro had cheated him out of his rightful share of the spoils of the conquest, and he sought revenge.

On the morning of June 26, Almagro and his men attacked Pizarro's palace in Lima. Pizarro was caught by surprise and was unable to mount an effective defense. He was mortally wounded in the fighting and died a few hours later.

Pizarro's death marked the end of an era in the Spanish conquest of the Americas. He was one of the most successful and ruthless of the conquistadors, and his death opened the way for a period of civil war and instability in Peru.
