Did Alfred the great have children?

Yes, Alfred the Great had children. Here are some of his known children:

King Edward the Elder: Edward succeeded Alfred as King of Wessex and continued his father's legacy. He is known as "the Elder" due to being the oldest of Alfred's sons.

Æthelfleda, Lady of the Mercians: Æthelfleda was Alfred's eldest daughter and a remarkable ruler in her own right. She governed Mercia as "Lady of the Mercians," expanding its territory and defending against Viking raids.

Æthelgifu: Æthelgifu was Alfred's second daughter. In 919, she married the West Frankish king Charles the Simple.

Æthelweard: Æthelweard was Alfred's third son and a chronicler. Although he passed away before inheriting the throne, he wrote a historical work known as "Chronicon Æthelweardi," covering the period from 866 to 975.

Ælfthryth: Ælfthryth was Alfred's youngest daughter. She later became the wife of Baldwin II of Flanders.

Additionally, Alfred may have had other children, but not much is known about them.
