Who was marry harris Jones?

Mary Harris Jones ("Mother Jones", August 1, 1837–November 30, 1930), was an American schoolteacher and labor leader. Born in County Cork, Ireland, she emigrated to the U.S. when she was 10. She grew up in poverty, which pushed her to fight for the rights of workers and the working class. She co-founded the United Mine Workers of America, organizing some of the first major strikes, led marches, and gave speeches demanding better treatment of workers, women, and children. She was blacklisted by the U.S. government and jailed after opposing World War I. Despite this, she continued her work. She is honored today for her activism.
