Historical story

How much is a 1941 wheat penny?

The value of a 1941 wheat penny depends on its grade and condition. Typically, a 1941 "brown wheat penny" (with a mint mark on the back) in good condition is worth around $0.15 to $0.25, while one in "extra fine condition" can fetch around $1.50 to $3.00.

Note that the wheat pennies from 1941 with no mintmark (denoting they were minted in Philadelphia), are rarer and therefore are worth slightly more than those with mint marks. In good condition, a Philadelphia 1941 wheat penny can be worth $0.20 to $0.30, and in extra fine condition, its value could range from $5 to $10 or more.
