Klara Pozl, mother of Adolf Hitler
From the childhood of Adolf Hitler very little is known, but it is certain the very strong bond that the future Fuhrer established from an early age with his mother, Klara Polzl.
Unlike his father Alois in fact , severe, womanizer and frequent tavern-goer, Klara took care of the children full-time, both of Adolf and his sister Paula, with which she was sometimes suffocating, probably to make up for the emotional shortcomings deriving from a marital relationship that was not exactly happy.
When the woman died, aged just 47 of breast cancer, Adolf was annihilated in pain, a shock that he never managed to completely elaborate, so much so that years later, in his study, on the wall behind the desk, one could still admire, alone and unchallenged, a large portrait of his mother.
To take care of Mrs. Klara Polzl during her illness was the family doctor, the Jew Eduard Bloch.
Although undergoing surgery, the woman's condition worsened causing her sufferings that required the daily administration of drugs, which Bloch himself provided.
At the time of Klara's death, which took place on 21 December 1907, Adolf was 18 years old and the pain of loss, as mentioned above, was devastating for him.
Later the Fuhrer always showed affection and gratitude towards the old doctor, but some historians went so far as to believe that instead, perhaps unconsciously, they held him responsible for the premature death of his mother, which would have led him to mature that ferocious anti-Semitism of which we all know the consequences.
