Today it has reached Pills of History , by Mr. Marco Buccino , reporting a show on Napoleon Bonaparte which will be held between March and June in Cherasco (CN).
I faithfully report to readers the information on the event exactly as it came to me.
Portrait of Napoleon. The exhibition in Cherasco (CN) will be held from March to June
Ei Fu - Napoleon Bonaparte from Piedmont to Europe (1796-1815)
Napoleon Bonaparte and Piedmont: a relationship of love and hate in a period of great geopolitical, social and cultural changes, an experience in some ways troubled, in some cases even painful, but which - as often happens in history - has left a great mark that is still tangible today.
And it is precisely the description of all this that is the ambitious goal of the exhibition “ Ei Fu - Napoleon Bonaparte from Piedmont to Europe (1796-1815)” , scheduled from Saturday 17 March to Sunday 24 June 2018 at Palazzo Salmatoris in Cherasco (CN).
The exhibition tells the cultural and social aspects of the epic of Napoleon Bonaparte , with particular attention to the events that took place from his arrival in Piedmont in 1796 until his abdication in 1814 and the return of the Savoy family from exile in Sardinia.
The location of the exhibition is the same building that hosted Napoleon himself on April 28, 1796 on the occasion of the signing of the armistice of Cherasco, a center present within the European Federation of Napoleonic Cities .
From here Bonaparte began his advance in Italy, parallel to his conquests in Europe.
Cherasco is an exhibition that tells of armies and battles , but above all of social, cultural and urban transformations , of statutes and laws, of emancipation of citizens of the Jewish religion and stories of artists, scientists and scholars who followed Napoleon in the race towards the ideal of a new Europe and who reached important positions, such as the Piedmontese Carlo Secondo Salmatoris of Rosillon and Bernardino Drovetti .
There are about a hundred objects on display:documents, books, prints, paintings, sculptures, miniatures, porcelain, musical instruments, theatrical costumes, weapons, silver and medals.
The works come from prestigious Piedmontese institutions, including the Accorsi-Ometto Foundation, the Egyptian Museum and the Turin State Archives, as well as from Cherasco itself and from Cherasco institutions , in particular the G.B. Adriani and the Civic Historical Archives, and by numerous private collectors.
The exhibition was commissioned by the City of Cherasco and is promoted by the Cherasco 1631 Association, two years after the great success of " In the sign of the Savoy. Cherasco diplomatic fortress ".
Curator of the exhibition and catalog is Laura Facchin , art historian and researcher at the University of Insubria, with the collaboration of Luca Mana , Flavio Russo and numerous scholars and specialists in the sector.
A separate section of the exhibition is dedicated to “Napoleonmania” and curated by Alessia Giorda , historian, and Francesco Ganora , Napoleonic enthusiast and collector, with a collection of memorabilia and a wide range of objects that celebrates the myth of Napoleon from the nineteenth century to today in its most diverse and often bizarre expressions, from comics to shaving soap, from liquor bottles to stickers, and with a video room to tell the figure of Napoleon in cinema and advertising.
The exhibition is open to the public with free admission from Tuesday to Sunday from 10 to 12 and from 14 to 19. The side events organized as part of the exhibition are open to all visitors.
Guided tours for groups and schools are also planned.
The exhibition received the patronage of the Piedmont Region and was organized in collaboration with the Accorsi-Ometto Foundation and the Egyptian Museum, thanks to the support of the main sponsor Banca di Cherasco and the Reale sponsors Mutua, De Benedetti Foundation - Cherasco 1547 Onlus and Castello Visconteo di Cherasco and with the organizational support of the Cherasco Culture Association and Le Terre dei Savoia Association.
