Typical clothing of the Egyptians
Most of the information on the way of dressing the Egyptians we learn about them from the wall paintings of the tombs and from archeology.
In the scenes depicted, the Egyptians actually wear very little:the workers are naked or covered at most by a skimpy thong, the others, clients and supervisors of the work, wear a white kilt certainly of linen, the most used fabric for making garments, as it is fresh, breathable and pleasant to use in the presence of strong heat.
However, the desert climate, now as then, is not always hot and especially during the winter the temperature changes are very drastic, with very cold nights.
So how did you protect yourself at the time?
Using more opaque clothing made of wool.
Some of these were found in the grave goods: tunics with long sleeves and detachable leggings , which you can put on and take off as you like, depending on the temperature of the moment.
On other occasions, the Egyptians wore clothing similar to galabeya, currently typical of the local farmers.
