The great Byzantinologist - Historian Eleni Glykatzi Arveler was hosted by Nikos Hatzinikolaou on the show "Enopios Enopio" on Monday (26/10), who spoke about the years of the Resistance, the pandemic, and Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Alexis Tsipras.
Regarding the coronavirus pandemic, Ms. Arveler said:“All pandemics have renewed generations. It has become almost a mandatory thing, for the new generations to come and take the reins from the previous ones. The bad thing is not the pandemic, but the conspiracy theory because these things are improbable. What bothers you? The Greeks are the people who believe "I love you forever".
Speaking about the years of the Resistance, the great Byzantinologist - Historian said:"The Resistance made me who I am. At the school I was at, the 4th High School for Girls, the Italians took it and turned it into a hospital. The teacher told me to make a resistance group with the children and to be in it. We were called "Spitha". There they gave me the secret leaflets to take to different places. When I went to give them I read them and saw that they were in favor of the King. Out of the blue, I was from a Venizelian family. I immediately left "Spitha". When I joined EPON, I hadn't slept at home since I was 14 years old so I wouldn't get caught. All my siblings were organized. No communist. My nickname was "Niki". When I was coming home, my mother knew that there was a demonstration. He understood, because he knew that I want to wash so that they don't find me dead, dirty."
"I was born and I will die Leftist because I still believe in a fairer distribution of public wealth," said Eleni Glykatzi Arveler. She said of the prime minister:"I not only supported him, something more. Greece needs a man who can express what he wants. I think he is the only one who can reform. I consider Alexis Tsipras the leader of the Left, but sometimes he drives me crazy because he has a divisive speech".
