The Indian National Congress was founded by the British in 1985 to prevent the Indian people from revolting as much as in 1857. By the way, A.O. Hume is considered the founder of Congress.
A.O. Hume, the founder of the Congress, had to run away wearing a sari and wearing a burqa, wearing a sari and wearing a burqa, on June 17, 1857, in Etawah, Uttar Pradesh, to save his life from the freedom fighters. was. At that time he was the Magistrate and Collector of Etawah.
Swatantra Veer Savarkar has written in his biography, “On 10 May 1857, the revolutionary soldiers revolted against the British government, cut off the British officers there and within a week marched on Delhi with the help of the Indian Army and the British officers there. He made an open declaration of the independence of Hindustan by killing him with a sword and conquering Delhi. Rapidly the rebellion started spreading all over the country. In such a situation, Shriyut Hume, choosing his most reliable and loyal Indian soldiers, formed a protector troop and ordered the Assistant Magistrate to close all the roads to the city of Etawah. Even after this arrangement, some revolutionary soldiers entered the city and were staying in a temple. Hume came to attack that temple with soldiers thinking that the loyal subjects would help them in getting them caught, but the loyal subjects were cheering the revolutionaries who surrounded the temple. Hume nevertheless took his soldiers along and ordered Assistant Magistrate Daniel to attack. Only one Indian soldier advanced with Daniel. The revolutionaries opened fire and killed both of them. Then Hume, forgetting to rebuke the disobedient soldiers, galloped towards his camp and died only after reaching the tent.
Soon there was an open rebellion and on 22 May British Indian soldiers broke into the British Cantonment. They looted the treasury, opened the prisons and warned the British military officers, priests, merchant women, children, all the white people that if they did not leave Etawah immediately, they would be killed. After this order, the whites started running here and there, trembling with fear. Wherever they ran from there, people would form a herd and run away saying to kill the firangis. The District Magistrate was looking for Hume and everyone knew him. To save her life, she first put on her white face, then wore a sari and wore a burqa on it. Then the loyal Indian soldiers got ready to save them.
The fear of this incident which came on his life sat in the mind of Hume Saheb, it kept him restless throughout his life and it also affected his politics. He was always worried about not having to face armed revolution like 1857 again. He was convinced that the peace of the people of Hindustan is ostentatious and there is no rule as to when a spark can be ignited.
This fear inspired AO Hume to form an organization like Congress by mobilizing British rule, Englishism and British devotees. Discuss this matter in the next article "Did Congress fight for India's freedom?" will expand in In this article, Congress leaders and revolutionaries themselves will prove in their own words that except for the exception, Congress and Congressmen including Gandhi had nothing to do with India's independence.
