So my 2020 run begins again! It must be said that this decade has ended with a crash - unfavorable for most parts. The one virus that should not be named, Australian wildfires, the Pentagon release UFO videos and no one cares a single time, the worst kind of "never in ten years" type of natural hazards hitting the entire globe, Siberia in the Arctic Circle experiences extreme "never heard of" heat and much more. We have seen / not seen everything. And as if all this were not enough, the end of the decade also opened several 10-12 foot shining specimens of mystery around the world. The monoliths, as the world calls them, have appeared in surprising places over the past two months, including an American desert, a British beach, a Belgian field, a Moroccan site and almost everywhere else across the globe. The number of such performances is approaching a century. While some quarantined souls have ignored what another barrel in 2020 has served us, some conspiracy theorists have taken an extraordinary liberty to suggest various out-of-the-box explanations for these inexplicable and unclaimed appearances. Although theories may vary, almost all living people have definitely found themselves comparing these events to the extraterrestrial genre film 2001:A Space Odyssey , where an alien monolith is a recurring symbol that seems to play a role in the evolution of human evolution.
Here are some pictures of these monoliths that have shocked 21 st century humanity.
There have been several theories that the enthusiastic internet users have propagated. The most discussed has been extraterrestrial interference as monoliths have been subject to expert scrutiny in this regard since time immemorial. And as the physicist Richard Feynman said, "... what does not fit is the most interesting." The tendency to imagine alternatives and to entertain a "what if?" scenario is the same reason why we love reading speculative fiction. The other theories include Land Art, Net Art, Hoax / Prank. My personal guess would be a technology startup building momentum before launch. Either way, it has probably piqued our interest in monoliths.
Of monoliths, obelisks, aliens and myths
Technically, a monolith is a geological feature consisting of a single solid rock or rock, such as some rock, or a single large piece of rock placed as, or within, a monument or building. In architecture, this term is often confused with megalith, which is normally used for prehistory, and can be used in connection with stone-carved architecture or for exceptionally large stones such as obelisks, statues, monolithic columns or large architraves. The reason why monoliths have often been associated with extraterrestrial phenomena is due to the presence of such monoliths on other extraterrestrial bodies.
According to Mike Bara, author of "The Choice:Using Conscious Thought and Physics of the Mind to Reshape the World", there is a very interesting monolith / obelisk on the Martian moon, Phobos. And according to Buzz Aldrin, the other man who walked on the moon, it was artificial and not a natural phenomenon. So does that mean it was placed there by someone else who is not from the earth? Only time will tell. Or maybe not. Is there a possibility that similar artificial objects were also placed elsewhere, including the earth? According to researcher David Childress, author of "Technology of Gods", Egypt and Ethiopia have obelisks around 4000-5000 years old. He explains that obelisks are a piece of crystalline granite and within that granite is quartz crystal. So obelisks are in themselves a crystal tower with all the properties that quartz crystal adds to the technology. It can thus be processed with an antenna that can both receive and transmit. He suggests that long ago, there were such networks of obelisks around the world that created a wireless broadcasting system and power created in the atmosphere of these obelisks was picked up by these obelisks around the world, much like radio today. According to Richard Leviton, author of the "Encyclopedia of Earth Myths", these are not just rocks, but have an energy field around them, and that the rock placement is not random, but seems well planned, with some old technology in mind. According to Sam Osmanagich, professor of anthropology at American University, the location of the rocks is very important. For example, in the famous Stonehenge in England, the stones are placed above the underground water where it flows. The moving water generates energy, which is then received by rocks and then slowly released. The ancients would gather around these monoliths as a ritual and lay their hands to get that energy.
Is it possible that these ancient monoliths, interconnected by design and by harnessing the energy of the earth, have the key to answering the greatest question of all time - Are we alone in this universe? Well, it's 2021. The Pentagon has already released UFO videos. So I would put my bets, even if it was for the sake of a short-lived adrenaline rush. But before you are convinced by the suggestions above, you must know a great polymath Pierre-Simon Laplace, once suggested "extraordinary demands require extraordinary evidence".
Monoliths around the world
Since we're talking about all things monolithic today, I'm sure a lot of history / travel addicts are already itching to add some of them to your bucket lists. While the latter are a strange phenomenon, which apparently disappears as soon as they appear, one can not be too sure to see them in person. But here are some equally enchanting, more beautiful and of course ancient monoliths at your disposal, which do not move at first. Well, at least I did not go down without explaining myself first. Since I've talked so much about obesity, why not start with them!
- Obelisk - An obelisk is a rectangular pillar in stone with a conical top that forms a pyramid ion, set on a base, erected to commemorate an individual or an event and honor the gods. The Egyptians called them Tekhenu, which means "to pierce", as in "to pierce the sky". It was the Greek historian Herodotus who gave them the current name Obelisk. Real obelisks as conceived by the ancient Egyptians are "monolithic", or made of a single piece of stone. Around 250 BC. used a Greek philosopher named Eratosthenes an obelisk to calculate the circumference of the earth. The obelisk in the center of Place de la Concorde, for example, is monolithic. It is 3300 years old and once marked the entrance to the temple of Thebes in Egypt .
- Sukkerlakefjellet - It's one of them sights to visit when in Rio de Janeiro and have a unique shape that represents a cone. It is 600 million years old.
- Devil's Tower, Wyoming - Devils Tower is one of the most amazing. It is formed by volcanic rock, which makes it another extinct volcanic plug, and is 5,112 feet high, towers over the landscape and looks quite scary. It was even mentioned in Spielberg's film Close Contact of the Third Degree in 1977. The impressive structure is considered sacred by many indigenous peoples, whose name on the monolith refers to bears instead of the devil, making it appear less sinister.
- The stone of the pregnant woman It was discovered by a team of German and Lebanese archaeologists in 2014 in the city of Baalbek in Lebanon. Formerly known as Heliopolis, Baalbek is located in the heart of Lebanon and is home to magnificent Roman temples, which host the annual Baalbek Festival. is one of a series of three huge man - made monoliths found in a quarry here.
- Gommateshwara Statue, Karnataka, India - It is the largest man-made monolithic statue in the world. It is the largest statue carved from a piece of granite. toothed 57 feet high and carved around 981 AD, it depicts Bahubali, the founder of Jainism.
- Uluru, Northern Territory, Australia Formerly called Ayers Rock, a red rock in the middle of a desert, hundreds of miles from the nearest civilization. The huge rock, often considered the world's largest sandstone monolith, is around 550 million years old and is a sacred site for the locals of the Anangu people, whose culture dates back to around 60,000 XNUMX years. According to the original sledgehammers, Uluru was formed during the dream, a term that refers to the time when the earth and its people were created by ancestral spirits. Climbing is no longer allowed, but you can appreciate the wonder by walking at the base.
- Zuma Rock, Nigeria - It is an impressive sight that is surrounded by various myths and legends. The face-like pattern that can be seen on the side of the mountain is believed to be a depiction of a deity, while the local Gwari people believe the monolith is a gateway to the afterlife. During the rainy season, the mountain is said to burn, a natural phenomenon with rain-loosening falling rocks that create sparks, but seen by many locals as a divine phenomenon, while the mountain is also said to have the power to scare away enemies.
- Gibraltar, United Kingdom / Spain -It is a 1396 foot high limestone, strongly discussed as belonging to the British overseas territory, but part of mainland Spain, and in a strategic location at the entrance to the Mediterranean.
- Bukit Kelam, Indonesia - This Black Rock is located near the city of Sintang, and is the largest in Indonesia. There are several myths and folklore that go around it. One is talking about an ugly monster who wanted to marry the beautiful princess Dara Juanti. But the princess's protector cursed the monster, and it fell over and died and turned into a huge rock. The monolith is about 900 meters high.
- El Capitan - One of the most famous sights in Yosemite National Park, the El Capitan granite monolith rises nearly 910 meters (3,000 feet) vertically from the Yosemite Valley. There is quite a rage among tourists for rock climbing.
If you expect to witness all the "interesting" theories we discussed above, you can be sure that you do not. Unless aliens choose to bless you of course! The wonders described above should be appreciated solely for their creative genius - natural or man-made. on the other hand
If your curious thoughts are still wandering, let me here serve some wine along with food for reflection.
A little detour to Bizarre
- Peru Nazca Lines - They are a group of very large geoglyphs made in the earth in the Nazca desert in southern Peru. These shallow depressions in stone from around 500 BC. forms colossal forms of animals and plants that, interestingly enough, are best observed from the air. The shapes are usually made of one continuous line. The largest are about 370 m (1,200 feet) long, and due to its isolation and the dry, windless, stable climate of the plateau, the lines have largely been preserved naturally. Anthropologists, ethnologists and archaeologists have studied the ancient Nazca culture to try to determine the purpose of the lines and figures. One hypothesis is that the Nazca people created them to be seen by deities in heaven. Maria Reiche claimed that some or all of the figures represented constellations. Some theories are that the geometric lines may indicate water flow or irrigation plans, or be part of rituals to "summon" water. The spiders, birds and plants can be symbols of fertility. It has also been theorized that the lines can act as an astronomical calendar.
- Crop circle According to the Smithsonian, " They can not be evidence of UFOs, ancient spirits or secret weapons, but there is something magical in their lure." These complex geometric patterns, which are apparently formed overnight in fields around the world, have captured the imagination for decades.
- In both cases above , Some have said the Nazca lines were created to communicate with space travelers. Crop circles, others say, are a product of foreign work that is meant to send us a message. As for me, I would leave it to your wisdom.
