Historical story

Fehrbelliner Platz

In the program of the Nazi party was the reconstruction and remodeling of the cities of the new Nazi empire. Not many examples of this urban reconversion are visible today. Despite this, in the center of Berlin there is a small example of these Nazi plans to change the physiognomy of dozens of European cities.

The Fehrbelliner Platz is a magnificent example of Nazi urbanism. In 1935 the remodeling of the square began with a semicircular layout. Three large administrative buildings were erected, one of which was first used by the Wehrmacht and after the division of the city became the headquarters of the British occupation troops. A new metro station was also built and is still in operation.
