A constitutional monarchy is a form of government in which the monarch is the head of state but the actual power is exercised by a prime minister and a cabinet of ministers who are responsible to an elected parliament.
The British Prime Minister, David Cameron, is an example of a constitutional monarch. This type of government was created through the Glorious Revolution of 1688, which limited the power of the monarchy and created a more democratic system of government.
