What country or countries won the war?

There was no winner declared for World War I. The main powers involved in the war - Germany, Austria-Hungary, the Ottoman Empire, and Bulgaria (the Central Powers) and France, the British Empire, Russia, Italy, Japan and the United States (the Allied Powers) - signed an armistice on November 11, 1918, bringing the fighting to an end. The peace treaties that followed awarded some territories from the Central Powers to the Allies and imposed reparations and other restrictions on Germany and its allies.
