How do you use the K H D U C M chart?

The KHDUCM chart is an acronym, meaning:

Keep - Items you love and use often

Handle - Items you use occasionally, keep close by

Discard - Dispose/trash anything that does not need to be saved

Unassigned - items not yet decided, put this aside temporarily for later review

Culling - Things to be removed that don`t match your current style (optional).

More - Any additional options.

Here are some steps on how to use the KHDUCM chart:

Step 1: Gather Supplies

- Large garbage bags labeled: KEEP, DONATE, TRASH

Step 2: Start Culling

Begin with high traffic areas for example wardrobes and dresser,

Identify the items: KEEP, HANDLE, DISCARD, UNASSIGNED.

Step 3: Assign Unassigned Items

Review unassigned items. Place some to KEEP or DISCARD piles. Anything left after reviewing several can be placed in trash/donate, as often they are the forgotten about items not remembered the most. Discard and/or place any culling items and excess more items into bags accordingly.
