What year where disposable diapers invented?

Disposable diapers were invented in 1948 by Marion Donovan, a housewife and mother of two. Donovan was frustrated with the mess and inconvenience of cloth diapers, and she began experimenting with different materials to create a more convenient option. She eventually settled on a design that used a waterproof plastic outer layer and an absorbent inner layer made of cellulose. Donovan patented her invention in 1949 and began selling disposable diapers under the brand name "Pampers" in 1950.
