The Plymouth colony was founded by a group of English Puritans who sailed to America on the Mayflower in 1620. The colony was established at Plymouth, Massachusetts, and the following individuals were among its most important leaders:

William Bradford: Bradford was one of the passengers on the Mayflower and was elected as the first governor of the Plymouth colony in 1621. He served in this role for many years and was instrumental in the colony's early survival.

John Carver: Carver was another passenger on the Mayflower and was elected as the colony's first governor after Bradford's death in 1621. However, he died just a few months into his term.

Miles Standish: Standish was a military leader in the Plymouth colony and is best known for his role in the defense of the colony against attacks by Native Americans.

Roger Williams: Williams was a Puritan minister who was exiled from the Plymouth colony in 1635 due to his religious beliefs. He went on to found the Providence colony, which became the modern-day state of Rhode Island.

Anne Hutchinson: Hutchinson was a religious reformer who was also exiled from the Plymouth colony due to her religious beliefs. She went on to found the Portsmouth colony, which later became part of the Rhode Island colony.
