When did Timex watches first appear?

Timex watches first appeared in 1854 under the name Waterbury Clock Company, and were originally manufactured in Waterbury, Connecticut, United States. In the early 20th century, the company renamed itself the Timex Corporation and began producing watches under the Timex brand. The first Timex watches were mechanical, but in the 1950s, the company introduced its first electric watch, the Electric Timex. In the 1970s, Timex introduced the digital watch, which became very popular. Today, Timex continues to produce a wide variety of watches, including mechanical, electric, and digital models.
