Philip I was the son of Henry I and Anne of kyiv. He was crowned king at the age of seven, but his mother ensured the regency of the kingdom until 1066. He first married Bertha of Holland then Bertrade de Montfort. The repudiation of Bertha of Holland leads to the excommunication of Pope Urban II, who excludes her from the First Crusade. During most of his reign, Philip I had to crush the revolts of his vassals. In 1077 he made a peace with William I of England, Duke of Normandy, who renounced his rights to Brittany. In 1082 Philippe annexed the Vexin, and in 1100 he took control of Bourges. On his death, Louis VI, his eldest son succeeded him.
Grandson of Louis XV, Charles X, then Count of Artois, had to leave the country after the storming of the Bastille. During his emigration to England, he took part in the counter-revolutionary struggle and tried to unite the European emigrant forces against the French revolutionary regime. Recognize
