Jeanne is the niece of François I st with whom she was raised. At the age of 20, she married Antoine de Bourbon, the first blood prince and gave birth to the future Henri IV. Following the death of her father, she succeeded to the throne of Navarre where she governed with her husband. In 1560, following the influence of the theologian Théodore de Bèze, she converted to Protestantism, thus breaking with her husband who remained faithful to Catholicism. From then on, it greatly favored the implementation of the Reform. In 1568, she even became the leader of the Protestant party and left to lead the Huguenots in La Rochelle with her 15-year-old son Henri. After heavy negotiations, she manages to marry her son to Marguerite de Valois but she dies shortly before of tuberculosis in 1572.
Daughter of King Burgundy, she married Clovis in 493 and played an important role in his conversion to Catholicism. On her death, she became regent of her three sons Clodomir, Childebert I and Clotaire I. She takes in Clodomirs sons when he dies. But her two other sons, Childebert and Clotaire, blac
