Duke of Nemours, Count of Etampes and Viscount of Narbonne. He was the son of Jean de Foix, Count of Etampes and Viscount of Narbonne, and Marie d'Orléans, a sister of Louis XII. He received the command of the royal army in Italy, and deserved by his great deeds to be nicknamed the Thunderbolt of Italy:he unblocked Bologna, took Brescia, won the battle of Ravenna over the Hispano-Italian army, but was killed while pursuing the vanquished.
