When did the age of exploration take place?

The Age of Exploration took place from the early 15th century to the mid-17th century, although different historians may have slightly different definitions of the exact time period. It was a time of intense European exploration of the world, especially by the Portuguese, Spanish, English, French, and Dutch. During this period, European explorers sailed to the Americas, Asia, and Africa, discovering new lands and establishing new trade routes.
