Who invented earrings?

Earrings have been around for thousands of years, with evidence of their existence dating back to ancient civilisations such as the Egyptians, Sumerians, and Indus Valley. However, it is impossible to pinpoint a single inventor or inventor group as the creators of earrings.

Archeologists and historians believe earrings originated as a form of body adornment and evolved into symbols of social status, wealth, cultural identity and personal style throughout history. The invention and spread of earrings can be attributed to various cultures and individuals rather than a single inventor.
