How did the mission santa Ines get its name?

Mission Santa Inés gets its name from Agnes of Rome, a Christian martyr known for refusing an arranged marriage and devoting her life to God.

According to her hagiography, Agnes suffered martyrdom under the Roman persecution of Christians at a young age. Her story includes accounts of several attempts to have her renounce her faith and a miraculous defense from being burned at the stake, after which she was beheaded. Venerated as a saint within Christian traditions, Agnes is associated with themes of purity, chastity, and faith.
