How does a hidden blade work?

A hidden blade is a retractable blade concealed in the forearm or sleeve. It is typically used as a surprise attack weapon and is associated with the Assassins of the Assassin's Creed video game series.

The blade is typically made of steel and is about 15-20 centimeters long. The blade is attached to a mechanism that allows it to be extended or retracted. The blade is usually spring-loaded, so it can be deployed quickly and silently.

The hidden blade is typically worn on the inside of the forearm, with the release mechanism hidden in the palm. The blade can be extended by pressing a button or lever on the mechanism. When the blade is retracted, it is concealed by the sleeve.

Hidden blades have been used in real life by assassins and other covert operatives. However, they are not as common as they are in the Assassin's Creed video game series.
