Where should you live in a shelter?

The safest place to sleep in a shelter is away from the perimeter of the tent or group sleeping area. This will help to protect you from the wind, rain, and snow, and will also make it more difficult for predators to get to you.

Here are some additional tips for sleeping safely in a shelter:

* Set up your shelter in a sheltered location. This could be in a forest clearing, behind a large rock, or under a tree.

* Build your shelter sturdily. Make sure that the poles are securely anchored and the roof is well-sealed.

* Use a ground sheet to help keep you warm and dry.

* Bring a sleeping bag or blanket to keep you warm.

* Wear warm clothing to bed, including a hat and gloves.

* Eat a warm meal before bed to help your body stay warm.

* Drink plenty of water throughout the day to stay hydrated.

* Be aware of the weather forecast and be prepared for changes in conditions.

* If you feel unsafe, leave the shelter and go to a safe location.
