Ngoyo , also Ngoy called , former kingdom on the Atlantic coast Africa , north of the Congo , in an area that is now part of the South Cabinda (an exclave Angolas ) and the West Democratic Republic of the Congo . It was circa 15th century from Bantu speaking people. Ngoyo was in early 16th century in the area of ​​ Congo Kingdom - although not directly ruled by him - and was practically independent from about 1550. The export of slaves gradually brought wealth and power to the Ngoyo nobility at the expense of the king, who was incapacitated, and powerful merchant families, particularly the Franque and Puna families, dominated the kingdom. The kingdom broke up into small principalities after the nobles failed to elect a new king in the 1830s. The treaties negotiated in 1885 led to the Integration from Ngoyo to the Portuguese colony of Angola.
