LIST OF FRENCH PILOTS WHO PARTICIPATED IN THE BATTLE OF ENGLAND

(Assigned between September 9 and October 31, 1940)

Didier Beghin:assigned to 245 squadron on October 15, 1940. Killed on November 26, 1944 over Holland . Companion of the Liberation.

Pierre Blaize:squadron 111. Killed in aerial operations on April 14, 1941.

Yves Brière:assigned to 232 squadron on September 14, 1940. Killed in aerial operations on May 13, 1941.

Henri Bouquillard:assigned to 245 squadron on September 12, 1940. Killed in aerial operations on March 11, 1941.
He was the first Companion of the Liberation of the FAFL.

Maurice Choron:assigned to 64 squadron on October 11, 1940. Disappeared in air operations on April 10, 1942. Three victories homologated and five probable. Companion of the Liberation.

Jean-François Demozay:squadron 1. Colonel at the end of the war. DSO (Distinguished service order and DFC and bar (Distinguished flying cross). Twenty-two victories. Killed in air service on December 19, 1945. Companion of the Liberation.

François Fayolle:assigned to squadron 85 (that of Peter Townsend) on September 12, 1940. Disappeared on August 19, 1942 during the Dieppe landing at the head of squadron 174. (Compagnon de la Liberation. DFC.

Charles Guérin:assigned to 232 Sqadron on September 14, 1940. Killed in aerial operations on May 3, 1941.

François de La bouchère:assigned to squadron 85 on September 12, 1940. Disappeared in air operations on September 5, 1942. Companion of the Liberation. DFC.

Henri Lafont:assigned to squadron 245 on September 11, 1940. Colonel (ER).

Xavier de Montbon:assigned to squadron 64 on September 16, 1940. Killed in air service in 1949.

René Mouchotte:assigned to squadron 245 on September 11, 1940. Disappeared in air operations on August 27, 1943 as commander of hunting group "Alsace". Companion of the Liberation. DFC.

Georges Perrin:assigned to 615 squadron on September 19, 1940. Captain (ER).

Philippe de Scitivaux:assigned to squadron 245 on October 16, 1940. He commanded the hunting group "I le de France ". Retired Wing Vice-Admiral.

William Moncur (?):assigned to 65 squadron on October 14, 1940. .
