2500a.C. The Indus Valley civilization began in the cities of Harappa and Mohenjo-daro in Pakistan.

2300a.C. Sargon of Acad conquered the Sumerians and unified their city-states under his rule.

1750a.C. Hammurabi established the Babylonian empire.

1600-1400a.C. Minoan civilization flourished on the Mediterranean island of Crete.
