The luxury life of the Pharaohs

Today there is a restricted portion of the world population that lives in a high level of consumption and a lot of luxury.

But this is not privilege only of present society. In the time of the pharaohs, they and their families lived a life of great luxury, refinement and comfort, even if in the standards of the time, the reality seen today is surprising.

The pharaohs lived in palaces with furniture made with noble materials, such as cedar, ebony with several details in ivory and gold and the artisans had techniques and skills for the elaboration of unique pieces, the domestic utensils had great beauty and quality in relation to the other objects. worn in other families, it only asserted power and wealth.

Another evidence of luxury, comfort and proof of such wealth was in the contingent of servants responsible for the maintenance of the palace and to offer leisure to the pharaohs, there were servants, musicians, singers, dancers and cupbearers, offering many facilities.

To fill the time the pharaohs, also called 'living gods', hunted, fished with great frequency and played various games as a way to make their days more pleasant.
