And as strange as this dry landscape might seem, together with the magnificent work of recovering positions from the Civil War, they have led to a hundred seasoned reenactors chose this town in Huesca to stage different battles in Sicily and North Africa during the Second World War . Thus, during a torrid weekend, different skirmishes were simulated taking advantage of the magnificent conditions of the trench system retouched with props simulating the siege of Tobruk, or the urban environment of Alcubierre itself to the delight of the public gathered.

This event organized by theEtobattles Group It already has two editions to its credit and with a view to a third for 2020, offering a unique option to re-enactors of the Second World War who want to get out of the usual tonic of the European front in 1944-1945. In this way, it is committed to promoting a point of tourist interest and solving the need of re-enactors always eager for new scenarios that put their most tropical outfits to the test.

The 2019 edition has had the presence of several groups that have allowed us to enjoy British, American, German uniforms and weapons and even the oft-maligned Italian Army. Giving more prominence to the event, different period camps were installed where, in addition to spending the night, the reenactors showed various period material such as radios, shops, kitchen utensils, writing, etc. or even several vehicles such as a Dodge truck or German motorcycles .

Various renowned recreation groups heeded the call of the organization, ACCUH, AERH, FJR5 or the 6th Battalion of the Durham Light Infantry in their debut in African attire at a public event. Level reenactors, together with a suitable setting, have appropriated that different photographers versed in portraying recreations of all kinds have obtained magnificent snapshots like the ones shown here.

All that remains is to wait for the 2020 edition, which will surely present great news and surprises to re-enactors and spectators.
