The gay bomb of the American Air Force

The arms race to develop, or improve, "ways of killing" has been a constant throughout history and across cultures. At least, in this post, we are going to present a non-lethal one… the gay bomb.

The Sunshine Project (an international non-governmental organization that investigates and denounces the use of biological weapons) released the report on the "Gay Bomb project. » from 1994 [original report].

The Wright Laboratory (Ohio), a laboratory that did research for the US Air Force, requested funding (7.5 million dollars) from the Pentagon for the research and development of a non-lethal chemical weapon that would "revolutionize" enemies hormonally. These bombs would spray the enemy lines with an aphrodisiac substance that would provoke obsessive carnal desire, and homosexuality, among the enemy ranks (?).

Of course, the project was rejected but it also served to bring to light "other" chemical weapons of this type:those that cause strong body odor or halitosis, bee pheromones...
