Turkish provocation:They deny the Pontian Genocide, they talk about a massacre in Tripolitsa

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey issued a harsh announcement regarding the day of remembrance of the Pontian Genocide.

He issued the announcement regarding the "various activities and statements made on May 19, 2022 in Greece " as he characteristically notes.

He refers to today's commemoration day by speaking of "falsified historical narratives that contradict reality" while also accusing Greece of "trying to derive hostility from history ".

The announcement of the Turkish Foreign Ministry in detail:

"We categorically reject the delusional statements of the Greek authorities under the pretext of the anniversary of the baseless claims about "Pontia", which completely distort history.

It is sad to see that the Greek authorities continue their absurd attempts to falsify history. We also condemn the efforts of the anti-Turkey lobbies in order to deceive the public by bringing these biased claims to the agenda of third countries.

It is clear that the efforts of those who try to draw hostility from history and to mislead the new generations they will not serve peace and stability.

Instead of relying on falsified historical narratives that contradict reality, it would make more sense for Greece to face the facts about crimes against humanity which were established by the Peace Treaty of Lausanne , as included in the report of the Allied Powers Commission of Inquiry, committed by Greece during its attempted occupation and invasion of Anatolia. Likewise, those who make such baseless claims would do well to remember the brutal crimes and atrocities committed against other religious or ethnic groups, particularly Turks, including the Tripolitsa massacre of 1821. "
