The truth about the "Filipino disease" of Aleksander Kwasniewski. What does Jerzy Dziewulski say about her?

Aleksander Kwasniewski's alleged weakness for alcoholic beverages has become a breeding ground for countless jokes and internet memes. Filipino disease has entered our language for good. But does the former president really have a problem with alcohol abuse? According to the chief of his security, the truth is completely different…

Jerzy Dziewulski, as the head of security during the 1995 election campaign and - after winning - the president's security advisor, got to know Aleksander Kwasniewski very well. In the book that has just been published "About kulisach III RP" decided to comment on the "Filipino disease" that appeared in countless jokes about the former head of state. Answering one of the questions asked by Krzysztof Pyzia he categorically stated that:

Olek is not an alcoholic. This is some kind of aberration, it has nothing to do with reality. His body simply did not tolerate alcohol well . What's more, if you've been drinking, it's whiskey. And not because he liked to drink…

So how did it happen that the former president was labeled as a man who often exaggerated with interest? According to Dziewulski, the character of Kwasniewski was to blame for everything, who:

He wanted to be his own for his… just a normal person who opens up to people's problems. He made contact quickly. The only problem was the method, the old PRL school ... maybe it was the only element when a man of this size could be considered a moral ... post-communist.

Dziewulski claims that Kwasniewski did not benefit from the ubiquitous "drinking culture". The photo shows the president with Tony Blair.

You know, in PRL, whenever you wanted to do something, break the ice or make friends - you had to put a bottle, vodka, cognac or whiskey. If there was no glass and the matter was drunk, it means that the "friendship" is not sincere and the contract is not fulfilled.

Dziewulski also noticed that the problem could also have a moral background. Well "both in the East and in our culture, which has always been a frontier of civilization - at one point alcohol was the basis of the conversation" . As a result, it was the so-called weak head and pressure from the public that allegedly became the president's curse - and the cause of widely commented cases where he behaved at least strangely.

According to Dziewulski, this was the case, for example, during the famous meeting between Kwasniewski and the president of Belarus. Let us remind you that the Polish president allegedly wanted to get in ... in the trunk. As we read in the book "About the scenes of the Third Republic of Poland" :

[... ] Kwasniewski drank a little, maybe it was necessary, as with Kuchma, to take only the absolute minimum, hard to say today ... Anyway Kwasniewski's organism did not tolerate alcohol as well as, for example, a seasoned field bishop who was famous for his strong head .

The curiosity is based on the book by Jerzy Dziewulski "About kulisach III RP" (Prószyński i S-ka 2019).

The former security advisor believes that the journalists misread the president's behavior. The one who just joked about going into the trunk. The media, however:

found it too loose. They took it that he was so drunk he confused the door . Yes, he may have been a bit intoxicated, which has led many to perceive him as being overly relaxed for a head of state.

At the same time, Dziewulski has no doubts that "it certainly did not hum [Kwasniewski - ed.]). ed.] in my head to confuse the trunk with the cabin ”. The question is, can all bouts of "Filipino disease" be explained in a similar way?
