Judith of Bavaria (800 - 843)

Empress of the West and second wife of Louis I the Pious. She was chosen by the emperor from among the most beautiful heiresses of the empire. Ambitious, much younger than her husband (17), she quickly took on a great influence. In 827, she married her sister Emma to Louis the German. She is the mother of Charles the Bald, future king of France.
